Default 15x7jj, and 15x8 tire size help!!

hey guys, i tried to search the answer for the following question, and couldnt come up with a solid answer, so thought id politely ask it for the millionth time, and hope the regulars dont burn me too bad, (but if they do, im a big boy, and can handle it).
i found some new rims for the 82 calais, 2 15x7jj and 2 15x8 olds rallies (ss2's maybe??) my question, is how big of tire, can i go without looking silly, on these rims, front, and rear?
any input will be appreciated, and pics would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks guys.

It depends on the offset, are they factory?
Are they SSIIs or SSIIIs? Bolt on or snap on center caps.
I know GM didnt make 15x8s.
I know some run as big as 275 60s but thats about as far as you can go and the offset is a factor.

Looks good, I did the same but I went with 255 60's in the rear.
Not sure why GM stuck 215's on these cars.

i would like to go to 255's in the rear, but got a great deal on a set of 4 235's. But ya, your right 215's are out of the question.
