Engine and Engine Bay Color

Getting ready to clean up and repaint the engine and engine bay on the 87. Do you know what the specific code is for the engine color? Would like to repaint the radiator support and top plate also, but not sure what paint to get.

Engine is Black PPG 99

Not sure on core/fender supports.

Are there any other paint brands that would cross-reference the PPG? I'm not sure where I would find it around here, and I would have to get a spray can, since I don't have a spray gun. I found some referenced to Dupont, etc., on this site.. http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...r=1987&rows=50

I see several Dupont with code 99, referenced as 9300 and 9700...it doesn't have to be perfect, just want to make it look better....wouldn't take a lot, considering what it looks like now. Looked at Duplicolor, which is made by Sherwin Williams, but not sure about the quality. As for the radiator support, etc., probably will find a satin black of some kind...that is, after it is all apart and cleaned up...several very rusty spots near the radiator support.

Any black high temp engine paint should work, black is black.

I really like the 'VHT' brand 'Roll Bar & Chasis' spray can for painting the frame & firewall...its only rated to 250 degrees so I don't use it on the block or headers.. bought the satin black & it looks really nice!

No problem...forgot to add, it is supposed to be a one step, primer/paint spray...available at a few auto parts stores... What other plans do you have for your 87' 442?
