  • 1986. 442

I have a one owner 1986 442 for sale. 307, auto with console and factory T -tops. Grey exterior ( upper is charcoal with lighter grey below stripes) with burgundy interior . Story is, a guy I know bought this car new and only used it on weekends for the first 10 years of its life. He then parked it in his rear yard and covered it haphazardly and it sat until now. Car has 17,300 original miles. All floor pans and trunk pan are in beautiful shape. Trunk looks new. Interior is incredible, other than three smaller cracks in dash and 1-2 areas of fading on front seats. Rear panels above arm rests has the plastic chrome areas wrinkling a bit. The radio works, as well as all the interior lights and gauges.

The paint on the hood, deck lid and top behind the t-tops faded over time ( typical GM paint for the era ). It wasn't horrible but I had intentions of keeping the car so I had it stripped and painted. Things change and life gets in the way so now it's for sale. The link below for photos shows before and after pictures. Paint is really nice, with new decals ( still need to put the 442 decals on ). One small scuff on front bumper that paint guy did pulling car out and a small scratch on passenger side door down low in lighter gray area. Still has the original Eagle GT's on it. They have great tread but I wouldn't trust them on any long trips. Engine is all original, starts/runs and drives like a dream - the engine purrs like a kitten. Really a nice 30 year old time capsule that hasn't been messed with. I have a clean title in owners original name, this car was last registered in 1997. Email me for a contact number if interested.

    $11,900.00 or best offer

What happened to the RH remote mirror control?
You'd be lucky to get $6k for that car, dam shame it was stored improperly.
I can believe 17k miles looking at a few clues I won't disclose but it's now weathered to the point of being consistent with 117k miles even though the driveline has 17k miles.
Also, I would be concerned about blow-by given an engine sitting that long, the rings may have rusted out.
Those seats are faded horribly and no offence the stripe job is a sad joke for the money you're asking...
You have to ask yourself, would you pay $12k for it?
Given the other cars in your album and the un-researched price, I am going to assume you're a car flipper.
