  • 1987 442 for sale (maybe)

ok need some info from my fellow members. Im in the works of buying a 1987 442 from a good friend of mine. He bought the car brand new in 1987 and treated it like a baby ever since. garage kept, never seen snow or rain. Car is blue and has t-tops with approx. 80,000 original miles no rust anywhere.....anyway 6 months ago he had the car completly repainted and the t-tops resealed ( came out sick ) and iterior is 9.5 out of 10. Now the good and bad. he went through a divorce and is in need of cash so in my benifit hes giving it to me for a good price , whitch will make it car #6 for me and maybe wife #1 divorce lol any way i can get pics if someone is interested in buying. I want to let everyone know that I dont deal with buying or selling these cars like they are ****. This car is a one owner car and is solid. im looking to sell it if i get a fair price. yes I want to make some money but on the other hand you will be getting a mint car. The paint alone on the car was close to 5,000 alone. If you are looking for a show car then this is a good opportunity for both of us. please thanks for reading and serious buyers. let me know what you think and i will get you the pics or I will have them posted in a couple of days. thanks rock, 3390

to your reply, he came to me with a number on the car. The way that you are putting it seems like im trying to screw him. i told him to e-bay it but he had no time ,but on the other hand I dont want to make this a soap opera. I decided to bring it to this forum as a oppertunity for a fellow member to benifit from this. What happens in my personal life towards my friend is my buisness not yours. You dont know what we discussed or what we talked about but yet you write like im a bad friend instead of a oppertunity for a member to benifite from, and hey why not try to make a dollar? im offering a beautiful car for a price that should be sold for more but thats my buisness. trueth be told I dont need the car or the money or to sell this so in my eyes I am helping. Do you think I should sell it to you who I never heard from for what I might pay? I would have to get my head checked, so before you post somthing negative..GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!! It insults me. Im not a dishonest person. I cant believe that i am entertaining this crap. Maybe im wrong for telling my story about this...... or maybe you would inquire about it. this is a car for sale not a discussion about my honor toward my friend c'mon now. and by the way his back isnt against the wall

Sounds like a good car for a collector, I'm sure you'll get what you're looking for.

ok guys latest news on this article that is now a saga. My buddie is beside himself on selling the car. I will know at the end of the month if the deal is going through. I cant blame him for it.... he says he goes out the garage and sees the car everyday and now the time has come to say goodbye and he is having cold feet. I told him I understand and dont blame him. He will let me know at the end of the month if he is gonna let the car go. Sorry that this turned out to be a drama issue but I guess its good to rile up some dust every now and then. I will tune into everyone at the end of the month for all that is interested. thanks and next time if im selling something i will make sure its in my possession. rock !!!!

Rock 3390. This car is exactly what I am looking for. So much that I am sure I can give him more than he is asking to help him out. The reason for this is, 1. I haven't truly been able to find a rust free one for a good price. The fact that it is rust free and recently painted makes it a perfect fit. 2. I'd like to eventually swap a different motor in there and make this a project for me and my son. So mileage is not an issue. If you can have your friend contact me through you or whatever, and I am sure we can reach a price that won't make him feel as if he is taking a huge loss. I know a divorce can be a stressful time. If you can drop me an email or response to this thread, that would be great. I am looking for a 1987 442 in Blue.

If it were my friend I'd say give him 2000.00 for it he gives the soon to be her half and give him the option to buy back when his divorce is over with. just my opinion

Hard to determine value without pics and up close inspection. There has been a super clean lower mileage 85' 442 for sale by me for 9K. It's been 3 months and still no interest.

I owned a white one back in the day. It was my first owned 442 and that's what got me hooked on these cars. Then my girl. Friend back then wined up buying a mint one. Well we broke up and I said if u sell that car I want first dibs.... Ps she screwed me and traded it into a dealer

Women!!! She got what she had coming though, because whatever she traded it in for could never dream of being half as cool as a 442!!!

What ever happened to your friends 442?

I owned one and loved it. At the time ex girl friend that we still met for booty calls lol tells me she has to show me something so she shows up and I'm like no f....way. This is like 20 yrs ago , any how this whit 442 ttops was I'n mint condition. I really wish I got my hands on it. True story. Then we didn't talk for a while whit the intention of her giving me first chance to buy it cause she had mention getting rid of it soon. The rest is history.
