Hey fella's I have a 1986 cutlass with a buick 231 engine. Does anyone know how to tell if my car has the C-3, C-4 management fuel system. Thanks

I don't think they had electric fuel pumps in the tank, it was a mechanical on the block.
    Check www.rockauto.com for replacements.

The reason I ask is I bought a used edelbrock intake thinking I might put it on my car with a different carb. I found out later that the intake is not compatible with the c-3 c-4 fuel managment systems, and I wasn't sure how to tell if this system is in my car(theres not much info at all on the web). Also has anyone tried doing this on a buick 231? Is it worth it? Thanks

Its a V6 in a 3800lb car, I gurantee you wont see a difference, youre throwin your money away IMO.
If you're looking for performance save up for a 455 and a TH400 or built up TH2004R or drop in a GN motor from a wrecked GN since you already have the mounts.

Thanks for the feedback 88hurstolds. Yeah the 455 would be great, but I gotta consider cost and price of gas( the 231 gets decent gas millage). Also I'm not looking to race this car, I just want to get a little more pep in my step.
