  • build thread

I finally got around to start assembling my 455. So I figured I would start a build thread I hope to have the engine in the Olds by the end of the winter and have the car running by spring to make the 2012 season . I will update this thread as I make progess on the build.

Some details about the engine are 72 455 from a Delta 88. The block is .30 with speed pro forged pistons 10.1.1.The rotating assembly has been balanced. I am using a Mondello roller cam with the following specs duration 280/274 Lift .523/.512 with lobe seperation of 114. A set of edelbrock heads and roller rockers from Mondello as well. I will be using the fuel injection from my 502. I hope to get 480 -500 horse out of this combo. Some more pics

I like that tuned port throttle body you made work on that setup. I would be willing to bet that you will be upgrading to a large monoblade throttle body by the time you're done tuning it. That big block olds is gonna want more air. Looks like a nice configuration. Keep up the good work!
