  • 1981 cutlass supreme

    I have a 1981 cutlass I'm putting a 1990 lt1 350 chevy corvette motor it has a carburetor what Trans should I put in with it do I need different wire harness and motor mounts I do have motor mounts for Chevy thanks for any input I just want Trans and motor to fit in with out any mods

    If it was an Olds most guys that frequent here might be able to help.
    My guess is that you will need Chevy frame mounts and you have a choice between a 3 or 4 speed for automatics: TH350, TH400, TH2004R, TH7004R or a computer controlled L460E.
    As for crossmembers there are aftermarkets available for any of these transmissions for use with dual exhaust or you can modify your stock crossmember, here is more info:



    Keep in mind all Gbodies are basically the same with regards to frame/suspension/electrical.
    May want to check with the guys at montecarloss.com or do a simple internet search on the topic.
    Once you start talking Chevy you basically have a Monte Carlo with a Cutlass skin.
