wondering if anyone had any numbers on cars produced with the sandstone (gray) interior? i have heard anywhere from 200 to 400, & even been told my cars is not a true h/o because they all had red interiors. i know the last one is false as i am positive mine is, everything is there including the w 40 code.

It has been said that there are 245 cars with the medium sand gray or sand drift interior.

yeah, that's close to what i have heard. just found out mine was # 180 out of the total production, sold by a dealer in mass. i wonder how many grey inerior cars are left. i have seen at least 6 of the parted out on ebay over the last few years. it kinda messed with me when i bought it, the dash door panels, seats are all a different shade of grey. hopefully i will get paint on it this spring. still need to find a drivers door.

Just in the Hurst Olds club there are 125 registered owners of 83 H/O's and some members own as many as 5 83's. Not sure how many of the 3001 built are left , but they are out there to be had in all kinds of conditions.

I was told by the HOCA the number was 250 with the gray interior. Mine was a gray but the original owner changed it to a black leather like interior. It looks great, I think Olds should have made it an optional interior, black on black is always good.

I love the black interior from '80 Calais pictured in the header.

i have a hard time believing that only 250 some were produced with that interior. I have seen a TON for sale over the past few years with that combo. I wouldnt have a hard time believing that is the number of cars with maple vinyl interior.

Angelo and I were talking and there really isn't any way of finding out what the number really is unless Judy goes through all the VIN's and RPO's of every car.
The best guestimate would be 400-600 cars.
The 245 figure I got was from talking to someone years ago at the Frankfort H/OCA cruise night in 2007.

i was thinking in the 800 range. the thing i find more rare is 83's without a roof option. i hardly ever see hardtops. my 84 hurst was a t-top but it was toast so we grafted a hard top on. a buddy of mine was making a GNX reproduction (you can't even tell) but he wanted a moon roof. when he cut his perfectly good solid roof off i snatched it up for free.
