1983 Hurst Olds Restoration

Just picked this up a couple of months ago:





I be performing a full restoration as time permits, have all the parts but time and money for paint, etc. supplies are going to be the big factor.
The interior is going to be overhauled first.

I also own a Hardtop with a Maple interior, here is the production information for both cars:

Interior was 'moused' at one point and replaced with a blue interior out of an 86 442. I've since restored the interior to its original color.
Replaced the carpet with the correct slate gray color from ACC however they come with the wrong heel pad:

Restored Interior

Here is the interior after the restoration, still have a few things that need attention such as the seat covers, upper door panels, headliner, visors and steering wheel/column.
Many NOS parts were used including the entire L-rods setup, dash trim, seatbelts and a few other items.
T-top trim needs to be adjusted as well but other than that it looks way better than before.

Trans turned out to be incorrct, was pretty disappointed.
It's a rebuilt OM code from a 1982 Olds 350DX Diesel:

But... I found the correct OZ tranny with a build date of 045 which is very close to my build date of 033 but what can you do... it's currenly being built by TurboBuickPerformance.com

where do you find all these projects? Im really excited to get my 442 going....but the more i read & look at pics, the more I realize that I want a 83 or 84 Hurst Olds.... they paint scheme is so recognizable...

The 15th anniversary badge just above the clock - is that stock/correct? My '83 doesn't have that, it just has an Olds logo.

Someone must have swiched out your's to sell it...

Floor Kit / Carpet

I was looking at LMC carpet kits. The floor for the 1983 Cutlass Supreme (I couldn't see Hurst/Olds in the drop down list) has a color chart. The burgundy looking one says - 7298 MAPLE/CANYON.

Is that the correct color, or should I look somewhere else? $165.00 seems really reasonable to me. I bought a floor kit for my truck a few years ago from a company in Saskatchewan, Canada - rubber/vinyl not even the carpet - and it was $350.00.

Factory GM original Eagle GT tires, caps, lugs and rims.
No aftermarket stuff here

Just finished putting on the stripes last night.
Need to let them dry before peeling off the backing.
I thought I positioned the trunk decal wrong, needs to be a little more to the right lining the notch with the right trunk edge but after seeing some photos of low mile cars they were positioned in both positions.

The upper gray stripe seems to be thicker in comparison to Lukes car:
