Black Hood Scoop & Wing

[84Hurst/Olds]

Well I was looking to get some opinions on which way to go with the paint on my '84 Hurst. When I bought my car, it came with the black hood scoop & wing. Was this a common thing? I am just asking because the majority of these cars I see have the silver scoop & wing.

I am really debating on what color to have these painted. What do you think looks better? And is the black scoop & wing supposed to be the same color as the lower portion of the car?

If I were you I'd leave the black wing and scoop as is due to the rarity of the number of cars that actually came with them... something to talk about too.

My buddy I'n ny has one that I sold him two yrs ago. I bought it from a guy I'n massechusets but engine was pulled and guy never rebuilt it any way it has the black hood scoop and black spoiler but I don't know vin# got to ask him. It's sometimes on cL he's trying to sell Never rebuilt orig motor

Not sure that it ads value but it is rare. I don't like the look personally, i think it looks incomplete. seeing that these are bolt on parts you could get an extra scoop and spoiler for a few hundred and have one set painted silver and the other black. i only saw this combo once in person and it looked like the scoop and spoiler were not painted glossy like the car bottom. that could have been dude to fading thou.
