  • Joe Mondello passes away

    Thought I shared this

    http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2...omment-1598686

I got the news from Joe Spagnoli, he called me tell me the news Weds around 9am . I am very happy that I got to see him one last time at the Corvette and Muscle Car Nationals for the Cars of Hurst Display. The one thing that I am glad I was able to do for him was add his decal to the Harry Hurst Olds and put them on the front fenders, in that he had donated parts for the cars restoration and they never applied them, he was extremely excited and happy that they finally got on the car after all these years. He also gave me all his Hairy Hurst Olds prints that he was given for his work on the car as a thank you ,and he signed all of them. I have been and will be selling these and all monies raised will go to the Hairy Hurst Olds fund., which will help cover insurance, traveling expenses to shows , etc.
Those of you who have had the privilege to have ever met Joe know not only was he a great car guy but a HUGE wine lover and had his own line of wines, at the show I gave him a very nice bottle of Barolo as a thank you for all he has done for me and his friendship.
He will be missed and I personally feel blessed to have know him and called him my friend.
My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family,
Joe was a great Oldsmobile enthusiast , but more importantly a GREAT man and friend..God Bless.

Huge loss for us all Angelo, hes the nicest person I've ever met in the Olds community, spoke with him for 20 mins last November about the newly designed chambers on the Olds Edlebrock head at the Chicago Muscle Car Nationals; myself, dad and brother were truely amazed by his knowledge and freindlyness.
He showed us the 70 W30 Vista Cruiser, signed a few copies of the new Tech Manual for us and gave us a bunch of free literature; I'll never forget that experience. A true icon in the Automotive world.
My condolences to the Mondello family.

I found a photo of Joe and my brother and also found one with you as well:
