I have owned my 1988 Cutlass Supreme Classic since 1988. It was a dealer demo car. I bought it "new" with ~ 5000 miles on it. I still have the new owner warranty card. Five months later I got a job with Hewlett Packard Co. and have had a company car ever since. I kept the Cutlass and it now has < 22,000 documented ( have all my state inspection receipts ) miles. The car is all original, white with claret interior (reclining velour Euro buckets) and has the wide chrome rocker and fender molding package (need some plastic clips), chrome rallye wheels, rallye gauige cluster and the F41 suspension package. It is a southern car, so it has NO RUST and has never been wrecked. I didn't have a garage, but always kept it double or triple covered (poly tarps over cloth). I am in the process of replacing the original Harrison AC compressor with an all GM /AC Delco. I think the service station that recharged it put something other than R-12 in it. It never cooled properly after charging and locked up after about 50 miles. The good news is that I was able to get all the parts to go back to the original R-12 set up. Going to pick it up from a Chevy dealer today. I also have a full 30 lb. bottle of R-12 that my Dad bought back in the early 90's! I just finished the headliner replacement, as the foam backing on the original one dry rotted and it sagged. It looks great. Next up are the gauges. They worked when I last drove it about three years ago. Now all have failed. I am working through it. Seems like it must be the ground. The tach has the factory jumper soldered in place, but had the "high reading" problem even before the other gauges failed. One of the dash speakers breaks up at volume. Anybody know where to get a drop-in replacement pair? Oh, the DS upper fender molding (tiny one at the roof pillar) blew off (bummer) a couple of weeks ago. The mounting clips either fell off or rotted off. The PS side one had the same problem, but I took it off until I get some more clips. Anyone know where I can find a replacement DS molding? That's it for now. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the site!
Very nice car indeed, I have one almost identical to yours but it has t-tops and a 455. I hope to put on my Hurst Aero kit soon...
I have a spare pair of fender moldings if you are still looking, PM me if interested.

Hey, thanks for the reply 88HurstOlds. That's a great looking '88 Cutlass! Those scoops look awesome, Are they functional?

The fender molding I need is actually the TINY one on top of the fender at the trailing edge under the windshield, driver's side. I'll find one in a junk yard or elsewhere someday. I do need a couple of the plastic clips that hold the lower moldings on. As you may know, the plastic leaf springs oxidize and break off. I was lucky to notice before I lost it, too!

I was cruisong the site and see you might have a claret PS seat in very, very good condition. How much do they go for? A mouse somehow got into my car while stored (found a small, mouse-size void in a floor pan caulk seam when I took the back seat out) and chewed a hole about the size of a nickel in the extreme back of my seat bottom upholstery where the backrest meets the seat. It's not very noticeable, but I'm considering buying a replacement just because the rest of the interior is SO NICE and I'm a perfectionist. Aside from this, the interior is LIKE NEW. The car has NEVER been smoked in, nor exposed to the sun.

I can replace all the interior upholstery for around $450 or just the fronts for about $250, but hate to do that because it's so nice otherwise. I'm thinking I might let the local upholstery shop that covered my headboard take a shot at it. They think they may be able to rob a piece from the rear seat back near the bottom (in the "crack" where the seat and back meet) to patch it.

      Regards,
      Michael

They're not functional yet, I need to have an air box built but I am soliciting VFN to build me a functional one instead of screwing around with this one.

Clips are still available from GM.
