  • new guy form omaha/bellevue nebraska

i just ran across this site, i have been on gbodyforum.com for years and i used my name regalman4925 from there. i currently have 2 g bodies in the works, one is a 84 regal that is pretty much all custom, body work is almost done which includes everything shaved including the firewall where the hvac stuff was at, rockers, molded in asc moonroof so it looks stock. i am swapping the 355 chevy i use to have in it back into it, it is pretty much covered in all polished aluminum parts, 200r4 with fresh rebuild, i have a posi carrier and 3.42 gears going in it, rear 12” discs, front fs1 brakes, full fbss air ride and 20” wheels for now, may switch to 18s because i don’t want to have to cut anything to make the suspension work. my second project is a 86 cutlass 442 with t tops, with this car it is getting a factory code burgundy paint job following stock specs for a 442 (started out black) it has my 355 in it for now but i am swapping to a 350 vortec based motor that has all the gmpp goodies on it. yes i know its not a olds motor but i am on a tight budget and the motor is sitting here with everything ready to go back together. the 442 was a stripped shell when i got it, still had the z code tranny in it and the 8.5 rear but the engine and interior were gone and it was in primer. It should be on the road very soon and hopefully painted by early fall if the budget allows it. i had no intentions of ever buying this car, i called on it for parts and was the first caller and ended up buying the whole car for 200 bucks! J it was rust free incuding the t tops so there was no way i was scrapping it. the idea is to make it a stock appearance car, i have 17” eagles on it, all new moog and edelbrock suspension with poly bushings, sealed hub s10 brakes with brembo rotors. After a pro touring style. I also have a 84 calais that i plan to finish someday also but it is at the bottom of the list. My other hobby is performance boats, i have a 27’ baja with a built 454.

That always becomes the case, I own 3 that I never had intentions on buying.
The 442 sounds like a great project, cant wait to see the finished product.

i know that feeling, i have most of the parts for all 3 of my cars but lack time right now. we just picked up a 85 2 weekends ago that was on gbodyforum.com, im sure you saw it for sale...? my buddy bought it, it needs a full restoration but appears to be rust free which is most important to us. i think that one is getting a olds motor also
