  • New guy from Canada

Hey to all. First, great site, and from the brief skimming I've done, great members. I'm sure I'll be bothering you all with questions soon. I just bought a 1983 Hurst/Olds 15th ann. and it needs some resuscitation (I didn't know how to spell that word so I copy and pasted it from wikipedia).

If all goes well, I'd like to be cruising next summer with the T-tops off and the wife's nagging drowned out by the wind and my collection of 1980's cassette tapes.

    We'll see you around.

          Cheers from Edmonton.

Thanks Jeffrey. Did you do your frame off resto yourself? I'll be sure to complain to you for sympathy when it hits -40 here in a couple months.

My late uncle had the frame off done.It was finished in '98.
Whoever put the body back on was no genius. The door, hood, trunk gaps are all out of whack.
Oh, and it'll be bastardly cold here in a couple months, too.
I wish winter would screw off to Hawaii and such places.
It's their turn to freeze, and our turn for beautiful weather year round.
Where in the Great White North are you?

I hear that. Nice to dream of a place where you could drive your car year round - no such words as winter beater, winter tires, road salt, block heater, window scraper . . .

"Whoever put the body back on was no genius. The door, hood, trunk gaps are all out of whack" -

See, thats why I was thinking of taking my car to a local shop to have the restoration done professionaly. I don't have the expertise or the proper tools - I don't want to make a mess of things.

Now I'll just have to work on coming up with the money.
