new to the olds world im a ford guy , my son bought a 1980 cutlass trying to figure out what interchanges and what dont from other g.m. cars, need to know what steering collumns will fit and what wont im sure i will have lots of questions so im saying thanks now, mike

Welcome, any 79-88 A/G body column will work however 84 to 88 uses a reverse polarity wiper switch so youd have to swap out the switch.
78 will not work, uses a spline connection.
