  • hey need help how much should i pay

So im looking at 1983 442 hurst t top. With manual window. There is rust inside the trunk and on the trunk lid. Also.on the bottom of the doors. It needs winshield. New exhaust cause its rusted out. They are wanting 4100 for it. How much id it worth? Also.paint is very faded

I paid 4000 for a rust free numbers matching one that just needed a little interior work but it was complete.
I just restored the interior with mint low mile original parts:

There are a bunch of yahoos out there lately who think thier cars are worth more than what they are.
No one here can tell you an accurate price without seeing photos and knowing how it runs.
    Are the numbers matching?
    Color of interior?
    Anything missing?
I would say it's worth $2300 without knowing any more...

I agree, the car your looking at sounds like it is in the shape my 442 was in when I bought it. I paid $1400 for mine.

$3000 tops and that's stretching it...
The rust looks like it could be worse than what you can see, for $4100 you can find much nicer ones.

fwiw numbers matching doesnt mean to 80's gbodies what it means to a 70 cuda...its almost irrelevant.

the problems you listed would raise questions in other areas like what condition is the brake system. i think 3000 tops is on par... i personally would look to pay in the 2,200-2,500 range.
